Workshop Reviews

“Gina created a lovely relaxed atmosphere which made for a great day. It was a great introduction to the various processes and we all got to try a variety of tools and wheels. I struggled with the wheel at first and Gina was very patient, watching and showing me where I was going wrong. We all left with yarn we’d made but even more importantly we left with enthusiasm to keep going.”

Emma – Fleece to Yarn Student

“I had the best day ever learning the basics of this new skill (one which I will continue with too). Gina is an excellent teacher and explains the process very well indeed and gives out lots of handy hints and tips to take away. I enjoyed all the practical elements, from carding both by hand and on a drum, to drop spindle spinning and then using a variety of wheels. It was fabulous to try out the different types of spinning wheel too as it became clear to the group that not one type of wheel suited us all. I came away with my own carded and spun skein of wool which I am very proud of and I am now looking to purchase my own wheel.”

“A fabulous course which is perfect for those who have attended the introduction to spinning or who are self-taught spinners who want to develop their skills and knowledge. I learned so much more about my spinning wheel, fibres, spinning, different techniques of joining and plying and washing the skeins. Gina is a fabulous teacher, answering questions and queries with easy to understand answers and provides information to take home to refer to. The homemade cakes were a fabulous half time treat too.
Thank you Gina”

“This course was covering all the aspects I was looking for and beyond. Gina is very friendly and knowledgeable person and really knows her stuff. Very well structured course in a very relaxed environment. The time just flew by.
And her cakes are absolutely delicious!
I can only recommend this course!
Many thanks for this wonderful day.”

“I was lucky to attend an introduction course with Gina, and spent the entire day being fascinated with everything woolly. I’d never used a spinning wheel before, and loved the chance to try out so many different types of wheel, and learn just what is involved. I’ve been bitten by the spinning bug (hubby loves you really Gina), and Gina has been amazing with her after care too. I know I can chat to her and get guidance whenever I need help. Worth every penny”

“Gina was fantastic.  She arrived with a basketful of resources and a whole variety of ideas to suit different ages and abilities.  All Cubs were engaged in the activities they chose, and I was amazed at the length time they concentrated for.   They even asked if she’d come back again the next week!  I would definitely recommend Gina. “
