From Fleece to Yarn

A full day course at my home in rural Caerphilly where I explain and demonstrate, step by step, how to transform raw fleece to finished yarn that you can knit with.

Students will learn how to wash, card and spin fleece using hand carders, a drum carder, drop spindle, electric mini-spinner and a variety of spinning wheels.

No experience is necessary and all materials are provided. Anyone who already owns carding and spinning equipment may bring this along if they would like to find out more about using them.

At the end of this workshop, you will take home a mini-skein of plied yarn, a detailed, illustrated handout, along with ideas of how to use your hand spun yarn and the inspiration you need to continue learning and practising at home.

This course is suitable for complete beginners, those who have had a try at spinning fibre but struggled getting going or those who just want a bit more guided practice and access to tips and tricks.
